Lazaroo – Sunday, May 31, 2009

May 31, 2009 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in a spirit of obedient submission:

“For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you.”
(1 Thessalonians 1:4)

I cannot fathom why You’ve chosen me, Jesus.

Although You invite the whole world…You don’t choose everyone.

Why me?

Yes, I’ve put my trust in You alone as my LORD and my Savior.

But why did You draw me to Yourself so I would be willing to pray such a prayer?

You know what I am.  You know what I’ve done.

It couldn’t be because I’m better than the rest.

I’m not.

The fact that You chose me in spite of my shortcomings is irrefutable proof of Your outrageous goodness!

Well, here I am:

A trophy of Your grace.

Cover my nakedness with Your compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience!

So that I may praise You who called me out of darkness…

     …into Your wonderful light.

    Hi Steve,

Lazaroo is always good. But this one made me cry. I know God loves everyone and that He gives us free will to choose Him or not. But, I never thought about God choosing me specifically. What an honor…a privilege, and a responsiblity.

I always love the Bible verses that support the thoughts.

I’ve got to confess that I don’t usually start my day with Lazaroo. Sorry. But, instead, I usually end my day with it. It works for me. Have a great week, Pam Wade
