Lazaroo – Monday, December 7, 2009

Dec 07, 2009 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in deepest devotion:

“Evidently some people…are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.”
(Galatians 1:7)

Why would anyone do that, Jesus?

You are the only way to heaven!

Anyone who twists the truth about You in a misguided attempt to

make it less demanding
make it more palatable for skeptics
harmonize it with the shifting sand of popular culture

is left with nothing but one more

boldfaced lie
lifeless theory
empty speculation
powerless fairy tale

that will cost anyone who believes it

everything.

It’s not enough to “just believe.”

What I believe

has to be the truth

the whole truth

and nothing but the truth.

You.

Only You.

Nothing else. No one else. No other way.

May I never water down Your gospel, Jesus!

May I never be ashamed of

Your blood
Your death
Your burial
Your resurrection

Your Name –

the only Name under heaven

that saves.

  1. Nealey Says:

Gary, bless you, man–please pardon my directness, but would you allow me to let you in on something? It’s wise for us, brother, to keep our comments within the parameters of what, in this case, the lazaroo is talking about for that particular day. Also, I think, we need to only comment on the days when we feel the lazaroo for that day has personally “struck a chord”. If my daughter is reading a blog that has a wealth of religious knowledge but that makes no sense in regard to the lazaroo she just read, it brings confusion. We’ve all been guilty of talking just to talk, but since God says not to, let’s aim at keeping that in check, for His sake and for clarity in the minds of our children. No disrespect intended, all right?
