Lazaroo – Monday, December 21, 2009
Dec 21, 2009 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with every fiber of your being:
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you…”
(2 Timothy 1:6)
It’s easy for me to forget I’m “gifted,” Jesus.
Especially when I’m sick
when I’m tired
when I’ve blown it
when I’m being harshly criticized
when I’ve given it all I have
and everything I had
wasn’t enough.
But that’s what it means to walk by faith, isn’t it?
In spite of what I feel, taste, hear, smell or see
I take You at Your Word.
You have given spiritual gifts to everyone who trusts You as Savior.
I do trust You, Jesus!
Which means I am spiritually “gifted” –
whether I’ve discovered my gift or not
whether anybody else sees it or not.
Even if it’s lain dormant within me for years
it’s still there.
You gave it
but it’s my responsibility
to fan it into flame.

Gary Weerts Says:
Greetings; Lord, thank you for the beauty and warmth of a brightly burning fire that attracts those who are standing out in the cold.No wonder you want us to fan the embers to a glowing inferno of love. Its work Lord, pulling together the smoldering embers and fanning them to become the brightly burning gift that they are intended to be.Left to be “just” embers,my gift of love will soon turn cold and die out.Give me strength this day Lord,to stir up my gift and let the warmth attract those out in the cold.Thank you Jesus.
