Lazaroo – Thursday, March 10, 2011

Mar 10, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with new-found freedom:

“Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel – not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.”
(1 Corinthians 1:17)

I will never be able to argue anyone into believing in You, will I, Jesus?

Doesn’t matter how smart I am
how good I am with words
how many illustrations I use
how perfect my logic
how many experts I can quote
how much Scripture I’ve memorized.

Unless Your Heavenly Father calls them

unless He Personally enables them
to make the Light Years journey from doubt to faith

they can’t get here from there.

That’s very humbling.

I will never “save” anyone.
Only You can do that.

But it’s also very freeing.

No matter how much I stumble and fumble
so long as I do my best to point people to You

You’ll do the rest.

That is a concept a lot of people have problems with. It is, indeed, freeing to realize that you aren’t responsible for another’s salvation. You are only responsible for being obedient.
