Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 17, 2012
Jul 17, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Ask for discernment, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom…”
(Proverbs 2:1-2)
That’s the key, isn’t it, Jesus?
Turning my ear to wisdom.
Much less than a talker
I need to be a listener
someone who pays attention.
Close attention.
It does absolutely no good for a person to wisely advise me
if I don’t listen.
Okay.
But it takes a certain amount of wisdom to recognize wise advice, doesn’t it?
I’m ashamed to admit I’ve ignored good advice in the past
because I didn’t know how good it was.
Please give me that much wisdom, LORD!
How do I sort out the wise advisers in my life
from those who are merely smooth talkers?
Oh.
Right.
It’s the ones whose advice is backed up by Your Word, isn’t it?
I’d be wise to turn a deaf ear
to everyone else.

Ken Says:
Since most godly advice doesn’t come with footnotes identifying chapter and verse as do your Lazaroo posts, this assumes that we are well enough versed in the scriptures and walking well enough in tune with the Holy Spirit to recognize the ring of Truth when we hear it.
