Lazaroo – Sunday, July 22, 2012

Jul 22, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo in wide-eyed wonder:

“…you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
(2 Peter 1:11)

I can’t help but wonder what You mean by a “rich” welcome, Jesus.

Of course, any welcome at all
will transport me to heights unknown
will be infinitely more than I deserve –

even a poor one.

To close my eyes in death –
and open them in heaven?

Oh, my LORD and my God!

I wouldn’t care if You told the angels to show me to a one-room shack.

To be included in Your eternal kingdom by any means

on any basis

is too wonderful to put into words.

But having said that –

when You’re describing the welcome I’m privileged to receive in heaven

there’s still that word, “rich.”

I know what I mean by “rich.”

But to discover firsthand what You call “rich?”

O God.

Yes a one room shack would do .. but I’d prefer to be the one always near Jesus to wash His feet. I think it will be riches in love .. remember He paves the streets in gold not asphalt or concrete. Money & precious mediums of
exchange are the worlds riches .. His ways are so much higher than ours.
