Lazaroo – Friday, March 8, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in stubborn faith:
“You grumbled in your tents and said, ‘The LORD hates us…’”
(Deuteronomy 1:27)
But of course You don’t hate us, Jesus.
You proved that forever by giving Your life for us on the cross.
So why did they draw that conclusion?
They could have been parroting their parents’ complaints.
Maybe because You killed their parents in the desert.
Perhaps because the job You assigned them looked too hard.
You know what? I struggle with the same kinds of things they did:
I sometimes parrot the complaints of people I look up to
I’ve been known to get highly upset when You take away those I love
There are times when I look at what You’ve called me to do
and feel like I just don’t have it in me.
But You don’t hate me.
You love me.
So even when I don’t understand
I’ll suck it up
and trust.
