Lazaroo – Saturday, January 19, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with full-on ardor:
“…the temple I build must be large and magnificent.”
(2 Chronicles 2:8-9)
Solomon was right, Jesus.
Any temple built for You should be large and magnificent!
You’re the God above all gods.
You alone created the heavens and the earth.
You alone created everything that fills them –
including us, made in Your image.
When we see huge, impressive temples built to honor false gods
there’s something within us that cries out –
“No! This is wrong!
The true God deserves something far better!”
And frankly, if we can afford it, perhaps that’s what we should do.
But then I get to thinking:
What kind of building could ever do You justice?!
Wouldn’t anything we construct be so inadequate
that it would be an insult to Your majesty?
I can’t help wondering if the building project You care most about
is building people’s lives
to look more like You.

Yes, we are His Temple we need to allow Him to construct and improve that which honors and glorifies Him.
