Lazaroo – Monday, December 31, 2012

You might want to roll up your sleeves as you head into the New Year, praying aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
(John 1:23)
What does it mean to make a straight way for You, Jesus?
Guess I should stay off crooked paths.
There are some mountains in my life, aren’t there? –
things that are a higher priority for me than they should be.
I need to get to work, don’t I? –
lowering them to their appropriate place.
On the other hand, there are some valleys that don’t belong –
really important things I’ve allowed to slide below my radar.
I’d better go over there and make a few corrections –
bring them up to their place of rightful prominence.
There might be some rocks in the road, too – well, okay…
along with a few massive boulders –
sins I’ve got to confess
and forsake.
Finally, I suppose You’d probably like these trees
You’ve so graciously planted along this road I’m traveling
to start producing some fruit.
