Lazaroo – Saturday, December 1, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with maximum self-awareness:
“So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them…”
(2 Peter 1:12)
Why would Peter do that, Jesus?
If Your people already knew these principles
why would he bother reminding them?
Isn’t that rude?
Doesn’t that border on nagging?
Oh.
Knowing what’s right
and acting on it
are two different things.
Just because I’m aware of what I ought to do
doesn’t mean when push comes to shove…
I’ll actually do it.
That’s where guys like Peter come in, isn’t it?
They’ve seen too much
watched too many good people fall.
So at the risk of offending their hearers
they say it one more time
come at it from every conceivable angle
drive home the most crucial points
again and again and again.
Ignorance isn’t my problem, is it?
Here’s one more thing I already know:
I’m educated way beyond my level of obedience.

We should all be like Peter if we love our Lord and His people, the Lord will give us spiritual discernment.
