Lazaroo – Friday, October 5, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with unbridled faith:
“What the king asks is too difficult.”
(Daniel 2:11)
Kings are infamous for that, aren’t they, Jesus?
They want what they want
when they want it
where they want it
how they want it.
More often than not, they get it.
They control such wealth
wield such power
that they can always find people
eager to fulfill their every wish.
But not always.
Kings set themselves up for disappointment
when they rely on those beneath them
to make their dreams come true.
Not me.
My dreams are every bit as big –
or bigger –
than any king’s.
But I’m not counting on
my wealth
my power
my skill
my clout
my perseverance
my creativity
my work ethic
my determination
my education
my experience
nor that of the people around me
to realize my goals.
All my hope, all my trust, all my confidence
are in You.

…but we mustn’t forget to take as many of the people around us as are willing with us on our faith journey.
