Lazaroo – Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in dawning realization:
“Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land.”
(Jeremiah 1:18)
Let me put myself in Jeremiah’s place, Jesus – just to see if I understand this. You’d want me to take on:
the whole land – not just part of it. That includes
the most powerful people in the country
all politicians, judges, soldiers and law enforcement
all religious leaders
all my country’s citizens.
Wow.
At least I’d know the answer
if somebody I was telling off interrupted me to ask:
“Is this about you and me…
…or about you and everybody?” 😉
You’d have just told me what my life was going to be:
Me…
against the world.
Got it.
Good thing You haven’t given me the same assignment as Jeremiah!
…or have You?
