Lazaroo – Monday, July 16, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with every fiber of your being:
“It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come…”
(Hebrews 2:5)
…but to people like me.
Wow.
I’ve got to wonder if the angels aren’t tempted to go wide-eyed and scream –
“What are You thinking, Jesus?”
Angels are these awesome beings with supernatural powers
who make countless journeys between heaven and earth
appearing as ordinary human beings when it suits their purposes
or as imposing, frightening figures
who make the knees of humans shake uncontrollably
and strong men faint dead away
but whose work for the most part goes unnoticed
because they remain invisible.
And Your plan is one day to make them
subject to me?
to be judged by me?
These angels know what I’m made of, LORD.
They see my mistakes and weaknesses
too many to count.
But like me, what they can’t yet see
is the awesome person
I’m about to become.
