Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with the integrity of God:
“Your rulers are rebels, companions of thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow’s case does not come before them.”
(Isaiah 1:23)
Clearly, Jesus…I need to watch out for leaders like these.
It doesn’t matter how attractive they are
how slick their ad campaigns
how tempting their promises
what I have in common with them
how well-known their names
what party they represent
how many famous people they get to endorse them –
if they rebel against Your Word
love hanging around with evil people
can be bought with cash, influence or gifts
don’t care about the plight of the powerless
they will not get my vote!
I need to look for their exact opposite:
someone who honors Your Word
surrounds himself with people of integrity
refuses to be bought
and has Your heart…
for the weak.
