Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in fact-based trust:

“…the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you…”
(1 Peter 1:10)

There was no way any of these prophets could have predicted Your coming, Jesus –

not on their own.

They were deeply steeped in an earn-my-way-to-heaven mentality.

Did I say “deeply steeped?” Make that

repeatedly dunked until soggy
utterly saturated.

You had made it inescapably clear:

Obey Your commandments and live.
Disobey them and die.

So when You told them to write about a Messiah who would save people who had never lived according to Your laws – people, in fact, who confessed they didn’t have the ability to live up to such high standards –

it made absolutely no sense to them.
They had to be dumfounded.

But because it was You Who told them to write it, their predictions came true –

which is why I have staked everything

on You.
