Lazaroo – Saturday, December 31, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed commitment:
“See how the faithful city has become a harlot! She once was full of justice; righteousness used to dwell in her—but now murderers!“
(Isaiah 1:21)
I know Isaiah is talking about a city, Jesus.
But what he’s really talking about…
is the people in that city.
How did that happen to them?
Well…it didn’t actually happen to them, did it?
They chose it.
But why?
I can understand why bad people stay bad.
What I can’t understand…
is why good people go bad.
I’m stating the obvious here, but good…
is better than bad.
It’s more fun
there’s no guilt
it involves better people
it leads to better outcomes
it’s cleaner, safer, happier
all of this…and heaven too.
People who’ve never known good might be excused for passing it up.
But someone who’s known good firsthand
has no excuse.
After tasting chocolate…
why would anyone eat dirt?
