Lazaroo – Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with earnest desire:
“Walk in his ways…”
(1 Kings 2:3)
That’s how I long to walk, Jesus –
in Your ways.
My own ways are about to wear me out.
I’m sick to death of them.
Actually, I liked my ways at first.
I thought I knew me best
believed I was the expert on my favorite subject:
me.
My first exposure to Your ways puzzled me
didn’t make any sense.
They were pretty much the opposite of my own.
What a shock to consider the possibility
that’s it’s not all about me.
What a strange thing to run headlong into the idea
that I’m supposed to live for You
be willing to lay down my life for You
in service to others.
But these days, Your ways are starting to look pretty good
mostly because my ways have flunked out.
So, yeah –
Your ways.
Let’s go.
