Lazaroo – Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in strong, stunned belief:
“For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.”
(1 Corinthians 1:21)
You could have given me the ability to reason my way to You, Jesus.
You could have made Yourself logical to my brain.
But You didn’t.
You chose prophets, apostles, teachers, pastors, evangelists, preachers and everyday people –
some of them a little weird
all of them unmistakably flawed
to reveal Yourself to me
to proclaim Your stunning, paradigm-shattering truth:
In spite of my innumerable sins, You love me
Since I can’t save myself, You died in my place
then rose from the dead.
If I truly believe, eternity in heaven is mine.
Every bit of that is counterintuitive.
Unless it had been preached to me
I could have never guessed it.
But amazed…I believe.
