Lazaroo – Thursday, November 17, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in a spirit of gratitude…and contentment:
“Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.”
(Genesis 2:8)
I don’t think I’ve given the Garden of Eden its due, LORD.
This wasn’t just some section of wildly growing volunteer vegetation, was it?
This was a garden –
planned
designed
laid out
cultivated
planted
fertilized
manicured
by You.
But not for its own sake alone.
Not merely so You could step back and enjoy its beauty.
You designed this garden specifically for the man You planned to place in it.
Where’s my garden, Jesus?
What exotic place have you designed, planted and arranged just so –
for me?
It’s right here, isn’t it?
Right where I am.
If You don’t mind my saying so…
this doesn’t feel like the Garden of Eden.
But if I understand Your Word correctly
it is.

i realize that our garden is post-adam, but it’s still pretty incredible… just think what we have to look forward to when God restores it for us!!
