Lazaroo – Monday, October 24, 2011

Take stock, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“…make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love…if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.”
2 Peter 1:5-7, 9)
Am I forgetting, Jesus?
Is there anything I’m doing right now
anything I’m failing to do
or be
that shows I’ve forgotten what You did for me?
You’ve forgiven me for every wrong thing
I’ve ever done.
You wiped my record clean
spotless
as though I’d never sinned
You gave me a brand-new start
no limitations
no heavy baggage to drag along
You came to live inside me
equipping me with everything I would ever need
to succeed
How can I ever forget?

From the first part of this passage, it seems quite simple to forget – by not making every effort to grow our faith.
