Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in stunned awareness:

“She has not acknowledged that I was the one who gave her the grain, the new wine and oil, who lavished on her the silver and gold – which they used for Baal.”
(Hosea 2:8)

Oh, Jesus.

It would be like a man who bought beautiful clothes, makeup and jewelry for his wife…

who watched her bathe
carefully apply her makeup
slip on the gorgeous evening gown he had picked out for her
adorn herself with his expensive jewelry

then as he prepared to receive her into his loving embrace

felt her rudely brush past him to step into the arms of another man.

Is that how it feels to You when I take the priceless gifts You’ve given me

of my time
opportunities
talents
resources
possessions

and use them primarily

to make myself successful
cause others to like me
advance my own agenda
entertain myself
reach my financial objectives?
