Lazaroo – Sunday, June 19, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from your inmost being:
“The enemy laid hands on all her treasures…”
(Lamentations 1:10)
The very idea of this…
it’s almost unbearable, Jesus.
When I think of my treasures
the things I cherish
the gifts You’ve given me –
falling into the hands
of someone who hates me…
wow.
Makes me go tilt.
But as tough as that would be with material things
it’s unimaginably worse
when it comes to my true treasures on this earth
the people I love.
To think of my most dedicated enemy
laying his hands on them?
Unbearable.
But that’s exactly what happens when anyone I love
succumbs to Satan’s temptation, isn’t it?
The devil’s hands are all over them
his thoughts filling them
throwing his head back
sneering with laughter at their expense
intolerable.
Send Your holy angels, LORD!
Encircle my loved ones with a hedge of protection.
And tell Satan to keep his filthy hands
off.
