Lazaroo – Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Open your heart to the wisdom of God as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.”
(Ecclesiastes 1:17)
On one level this is hard to argue.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
But Solomon limited himself in this book to the way things appear “under the sun.”
You’re not stuck with that perspective, Jesus.
Thanks to You, neither am I.
Solomon’s problem wasn’t that he had too much wisdom.
He had too little.
He limited himself to what he could observe with the naked eye –
as many of our scientists do.
If I limit the source of my knowledge
I’ve limited my conclusions, as well.
“Under the sun?”
Huh-uh.
I hate limits.
Maybe because I’ve been made in the image
of the Maker of the sun.

I love the way you unraveled this scripture .. we need not limit ourselves … or fear in the way things appear “under the sun.” not when our God is with us to lead the way, our Savior the Maker of the sun & all things great and small. Hallelujah!
