Lazaroo – Monday, March 14, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in dumfounded gratitude:
“God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me…”
(Galatians 1:15-16)
I go tilt with this one, Jesus.
You chose me to be Yours –
and set me apart from birth?
Why me?
You knew what my shortcomings would be
the grievous mistakes I would make
the countless sins I would commit
the enormous messes I would create.
Knowing all that…
You still chose me?
You set me apart from birth?
You’re my sculptor.
While I was still in my mother’s womb
You could have made me into anything.
You could have shaped me into one of Your enemies
instead of one of Your friends.
But I keep forgetting.
This isn’t about me, is it?
It’s about You –
and the fact that beyond all reason
You decided a long time ago
to be unimaginably good
to me.

jeremy riddle has a worship album sharing a song that says what many of us wonder:
AS EACH DAY GOES PAST
I SEEK TO HOLD, TO FULLY GRASP
WHY HEAVEN
HAS TAKEN HOLD OF ME
but so appreciative that were chosen. And to fully grasp all that He wants to enrich us with on our journey to everlasting life with Him.
