Lazaroo – Tuesday, March 8, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with the eye of a seasoned farmer:
“I planned many times to come to you…in order that I might have a harvest among you…”
(Romans 1:13)
Is that how You want me to approach other people, Jesus –
as wide open fields of incredible potential
in which I can plant, weed, cultivate, encourage and nurture
so that one day after I have poured into them everything I’ve got –
and after You have provided the sunshine and rain I could never supply –
I will have the unspeakable pleasure
of seeing a healthy, life-giving crop springing up from their ground
knowing You worked through me to make that miracle happen?
And if that is true…
am I somebody else’s field?
O God.
Even as I pour myself into the lives of others
please lay it on the right people’s hearts
to view me as a field of incredible potential
and answer Your call to pour their lives
into me.

Paul Says:
This Lazaroo is convicting me today.
Imagine if those of us who call ourselves “Christians” really lived with this perspective all the time.
Imagine if it became a way of life to the point where we look even at our enemies as having incredible potential.
One more reason why I know I haven’t “arrived” yet.
Keep us humble Lord.
