Lazaroo – Sunday, January 16, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with eyes wide open:
“They imported a chariot from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. They also exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and of the Arameans.”
(2 Chronicles 1:17)
Solomon was feeling awfully confident, Jesus –
so confident that he thought it was safe to make a little extra money
by exporting horses and chariots to his potential enemies –
equipping their armies with the very resources they needed
to go to war against Solomon’s country.
And it came back to bite them.
You haven’t shown me this to pile one more obscure historical fact on top of my already overloaded memory.
You’ve highlighted this for me as a highly personal warning:
Don’t repeat Solomon’s blunder!
Okay.
You have my attention.
Show me:
Where am I about to grab something tempting today…
that will come back to bite me in the future?
