Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with informed trust:
“During Saul’s reign they waged war against the Hagrites, who were defeated at their hands; they occupied the dwellings of the Hagrites throughout the entire region east of Gilead.”
(1 Chronicles 5:10)
Forgive me, Jesus…but when I read accounts like this
they sound so barbaric.
Here Your people come –
attacking, annihilating, displacing their enemies.
Enemies or not –
the other guys were there first.
We’re not just talking about soldiers who lost a battle –
we’re talking women, children and the elderly
who were killed outright or had to run for their lives.
Okay.
Not second-guessing You.
I’m certain You ordered the extermination of these people for a reason.
It might not be a reason I can fully grasp –
which affects my ability to emotionally – even intellectually –
agree with it.
But if there’s one thing I know:
it’s that You know best.
Bottom line?
that’s good enough for me.

Yes, thought provoking .. in that time it was Gods people killing the enemy. In the not to distant future it could the enemy killing His people .. we know our nation and “us” the people of this nation .. Christians and non-Christians allowing all this evil to pile up as it has. .. we have been sleeping, busy living our lives in our fruitful ? existence. God allowed His people before to go to death or into slavery. I pray we have more time to see more souls come into eternal safety with Him. And pray we stay strong in our faith and our obedience to Him in every way.
