Lazaroo – Saturday, December 18, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a sober heart:
“…the people feared the LORD.”
(Haggai 1:12)
Few people in my generation want to hear this, Jesus.
They want me to tell them
You’re their heavenly buddy
their best friend
the one who forgives all their sins
the God of the second chance
the lover of their souls
the Counselor who guides them flawlessly through life’s rough waters
the Rock who’s always there for them, no matter what
the God who loves them so much You laid down Your life to save them.
You’re all of that –
and so much more.
But that’s not the whole story.
That’s not all You are.
You’re not a God to be messed with.
The day I come to You in disrespect
demanding my rights
shrugging off my sins as though they don’t matter
acting like I deserve Your blessings
is the day before
I’ll learn firsthand why it’s wise
to fear You.

It is sad that more do not realize that – He is too be praised and referred. Praise the Lord.
