Lazaroo – Sunday, October 10, 2010
1 comment, Oct 10, 2010
Fervently pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to Your LORD and Your God:
“Who can withstand his indignation?”
(Nahum 1:6)
I’ve been around some indignant people in my time, Jesus.
Not pleasant.
But the absolute last display of indignation I ever want to experience
is Yours.
I cannot tell You how grateful I am that You are
full of mercy
slow to anger
patient beyond understanding
a God of unfathomable forgiveness.
But I know there’s a line I don’t want to cross.
It’s invisible.
There’s no way I can predict the exact spot
where Your patience ends
and Your indignation begins.
I never, ever, ever want to get within a thousand miles
of that spot.
I wonder…
Is it possible that the key to staying totally away from Your indignation
is for me to see through Your eyes
feel with Your emotions
and allow myself to get indignant
over the same things
that bring out the indignation in You?

Lord, Break my heart for what breaks yours, and make my sins as offensive to me as they are to you.
