Lazaroo – Monday, July 5, 2010

1 comment, Jul 05, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with heartfelt gratitude:

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength…”
(1 Timothy 1:12)

Forgive me, Jesus.

I sometimes forget where my strength comes from.

Okay, wait a minute – let me correct that:

I seldom think about where my strength comes from
until I’m afraid I don’t have enough.

That’s usually when I remember:

My strength comes from You.

Not some of it or even most of it.

All of it.

Most of the time, it’s just…there.

When I need additional strength

You supply it
I use it

and don’t think another thing about it.

You rise up to help me so quickly

so invisibly
it doesn’t even occur to me to thank You.

It’s only when Satan plops a mountain in front of me that I realize

I need Your strength.

But not just for scaling mountains.

I need Your strength

every day
every step of the way.

  1. Lady B. Says:

Everyone some time in our life time has had feelings of in-
adequacy. ” I can’t”. With those words, we often dismiss our responsibility to do something God wants us to do. I
distinctly remember my feelings of inadequancy as I stood in front of classes during my student teaching days in col-leg. I would rather have been nibbled to death than to stand in front of a bunch of relucant 9 year-olds just daring me to teach them grammar.

As frightening as those kinds of feelings are, we must never mistake them for reasons to avoid the direction God has for us in life.

Look at Jeremiah. (Jeremiah 1:1-10) God had prepared
him to be “a prophet to the nations” ( Jeremiah 1:5). Yet when he objected, ” I cannot speak, for I am a youth” v(6).
It is not clear how old Jeremiah was, but it didn’t matter to God. He didn’t accept his objections. Instead, the Lord
provided what Jeremiah would need to succeed: His enablement (v.7), His presence (v.8), and the words to
    speak(v. 9).

Listen to God. What is He calling you to do for Him? Does
it sound too hard? That’s impossible! If God has a job for you, it’s not you who will be doing it. He will be working through you. Give thanks that he has chosen you and not someone else for this task. That should take care of those feelings of inadequacy.

I believe that God has a plan for each of us. He wants us to fulfill it. And He’ll provide the strength we ll need to carry
it out. As True Christians, God’s Strength always accomp-
anies God’s Call. Trust God for whatever you need! He’ll be there!!
