Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with breathless anticipation:
“…on the day [the Lord] comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed.”
(2 Thessalonians 1:10)
What a day that will be, Jesus!
But most amazing of all
I will see You for the first time.
I’ve seen paintings – artists’ best guess at what You look like.
I’ve tried to picture You in my mind, based on Your Personality revealed in Your Word.
But that’s when it gets confusing.
As soon as I start thinking of You as this majestic, awe-inspiring figure
my vision is marred by the prophet Isaiah’s description of You as having
“no beauty or majesty to attract” me to You
nothing in Your appearance that would make me desire You.
But that was on earth.
Something tells me it will be different in heaven.
O Jesus!
I can’t wait
for my first glimpse.

Indeed, a great and terrible day (Joel 2:11)!
