Lazaroo – Sunday, May 23, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning zeal:

“To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning.”
(Daniel 1:17)

You are the giver of knowledge, Jesus.

You are the one who grants understanding.

I do my part.

I work, read, study, research, ask questions, observe.
I try to learn.

But I don’t begin to grasp the true meaning

until You intervene.

I don’t want pseudo-knowledge.

I despise false understanding.

Only You know what’s truly going on.

Only You understand the real reasons

behind the excuses.

You know how life truly works.

You understand why people behave as they do.

Show me!
Tell me!

Open my eyes that I may see the wonders You’ve hidden in plain sight.
Open my ears that I may hear the sounds I would have missed.

Rescue me from the hapless crowd who have

eyes…but cannot see
ears…but cannot hear.

May God also grant me the discernment to know when, in the midst of reading, research, or discourse, something that sounds good really isn’t.
