Lazaroo – Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God, with deepening humility:
“Now, LORD God…you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
(2 Chronicles 1:9-10)
I can identify with Solomon, Jesus –
not because You’ve made me king over Your people…
but because my responsibilities
demand more wisdom and knowledge than I possess.
You work with me
through me
sometimes in spite of me!
in such subtle ways
that sometimes I forget it’s You
and start believing it’s
my wisdom
my strength
my experience
until…
for the briefest moment…
You withdraw Your hand and allow me to discover
how helpless I truly am when left to my own devices.
I never want to make that foolish mistake again!
Holy Spirit, please remind me…
it’s You.
