Lazaroo – Saturday, March 27, 2010
1 comment, Mar 27, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with frank self-assessment:
“They are a feared and dreaded people; they are a law to themselves and promote their own honor.”
(Habakkuk 1:7)
I almost missed this, Jesus.
Are You giving me insight into why the Babylonians were such a feared and dreaded people?
They were “a law to themselves,” which means they
made up their own rules
were accountable to no one.
You couldn’t reason with them –
the only way to stop them was by force
I’m no Babylonian
but is there any of that
even the tiniest bit of that
in me?
They promoted “their own honor,” which means they
thought very highly of themselves
believed everybody else should feel the same way.
But when others were too slow to praise them
they just couldn’t resist pointing out what everyone had missed.
I’m no Babylonian
but is there any of that
even the tiniest bit of that
in me?
