Lazaroo – Monday, February 8, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with Holy Spirit discernment:
“Then she kissed them and they wept aloud and said to her, ‘We will go back with you to your people.’”
(Ruth 1:9-10)
Emotions are so powerful, Jesus!
Sometimes my emotions fill me with hope
put a spring in my step
make life worth living.
At other times my emotions leave me limp
suck the life out of me
make me feel as though I can’t take another step.
Sometimes what I feel like doing
is the exact opposite of what I know I should do.
At other times my emotions provide the fuel I need
to take a scary, really difficult step I know is right.
Sometimes my emotions lie to me
sometimes they lead me to a truth hidden deep beneath the surface.
O God!
Give me supernatural wisdom to know when to trust my emotions
and when to overrule them
in obedience to You.

I often must pray that I will be able to concentrate on what I know, rather than what I feel.
