Lazaroo – Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with explosive feeling:
“That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, ‘Ask for whatever you want me to give you.’”
(2 Chronicles 1:7)
Oh, wow.
What would I do with that, Jesus?
At first thought, that would be like a dream come true – You offering to give me whatever I want.
But on second thought…
it would terrify me.
Do I really know what I want…
let alone what I need?
Huh-uh.
Oh, I have an opinion. I can offer a few semi-educated guesses…
but the only thing I know for sure
is that I don’t know.
Wait a minute.
This isn’t some academic exercise I’m conducting, here.
You have told me to ask You for anything!
O God.
Only You know what I truly need.
Give me that.
That’s what I want.
Nothing more.
And absolutely nothing less.
