Lazaroo – Friday, December 4, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep reverence:
“May the LORD grant that each of you will find rest…”
(Ruth 1:9)
I’ve lived long enough to know this much, Jesus.
Whatever true rest I find on this earth
is an outright gift from You.
I know what it is to be unable to let go and rest
even after a long, hard day.
I know what it is to lie in bed with my eyes closed
and still not be able to rest.
I’m starting to face the fact that no matter
how hard I work
how smart I work
how many people help me work
I will never, ever, ever get done.
There will always be more to do.
But You’ve told me anytime of the day or night I can go to You
and find rest.
The deep soul-rest that comes from knowing I am
utterly
totally
eternally
safe
in You.

Greetings; YES-YES-YES!!! Thank you Lord Jesus, thank you!!! I love the rest that You give my soul. There are nights Jesus when I can not wait to retire from the day just to enter into rest with You in prayer. You make it “all” alright. That sweet rest when nothing else matters Jesus. The rest in knowing that Your Return is eminent. The rest in knowing that I can drop the “junk” gathered during the day.And yes, those little moments that I steal during the day to enter into Your rest.I need to.I get offended, kick up dust like a baseball player, lose my cool that I draw from the vine and get bent all out of shape!!! Oh thank you Jesus for your peace that passes all understanding.
