Lazaroo – Friday, October 16, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble reverence:
“I have been reminded of your sincere faith…”
(2 Timothy 1:5)
What kind of faith is that, Jesus?
A faith that is…“sincere?”
Obviously, it can’t be mere words.
I have to mean it.
It can’t be based on my opinion or the opinions of others.
It has to be solidly grounded in Your Word.
It can’t even be a Scripture verse that I mindlessly rattle off, along with chapter and verse.
I’ve got to think it through
take my stand on it
make it mine.
It can’t be double-minded.
I’ve got to have it out
with doubt.
But the toughest thing of all may be to simply
take Your Word on it
without a shred of physical proof
Because down deep I know the truth:
A faith based on sight isn’t just insincere.
It’s no faith at all.
