Lazaroo – Tuesday, September 15, 2009

From a heart of trust-filled worship, pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God:
“God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.”
(Genesis 1:4)
Not only did You separate the light from the darkness when You created the earth, Jesus –
You’re doing it still today.
You command me
not to connect to unbelievers
to break away from them
and be separate.
And yet…
You infuriated religious people when You walked this earth –
because without any question
You were a true friend to sinners.
You did not disobey Your own command.
Instead, You modeled for me
that I can be a friend of sinners
without being so tied to them
that I am prevented from obeying You.
That – just as You did –
I can eat and talk with them
without compromising my stand for You.
O God!
Could I be the person You have chosen
to reveal to them
Your amazing grace?

Who’s an expert? Not me. But I think there’s value in the old WWJD thing. Just stay rooted deeply in Christ. At first, just try baby steps into the world. Have an exit strategy. Don’t compromise your walk. Just enter the dark and shine a light. Prayer helps too.
