Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with utter abandon:
“His delight is in the law of the LORD.”
(Psalms 1:2)
Jesus, I don’t want to be one of those people
who hate Your Law
who doubt Your Word
who can take it or leave it
who buy a Bible and let it lie unopened, unread
who make themselves read it now and then
because they know it’s good for them
even though they don’t really like it.
I want to be one of that rare breed
who love Your Word
who savor its intoxicating fragrance
who can’t wait to dig into its truths each day
who crave it infinitely more than their daily bread
who constantly look for ways
to insert the golden nuggets I’m mining from its pages
into every one of my conversations with believers
and the unconvinced.
O God! May my time in Your holy Scriptures
be nothing less
than pure delight.
