Lazaroo – Wednesday, August 5, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sold-out desire:
“…our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power.”
(1 Thessalonians 1:5)
I’m tired of mere words, Jesus.
Mine and others’.
I’m tired of big promises
followed by tiny results.
I’m weary of thinking I have something
only to find out I’ve got nothing.
I’m sick to death of having my hopes raised in the soft glow of candlelight
only to have them dashed in the harsh, cold reality of morning’s light.
But the words that hurt more than all the rest put together
are Your words
unfulfilled.
Strengthen my weak knees.
Shore up my faltering faith.
Mend my shattered trust and
in Your way
in Your time
in Your glory
come in power!

I, also, believe this is something I needed to experience today. Lord, help me get a deep infusion of your power and not an emotional gimmick as I pray this Lazaroo.
