Lazaroo – Tuesday, August 4, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with wholehearted dedication:
“…they stayed there and worked…”
(1 Chronicles 4:23)
Sometimes I just want to get away, Jesus.
I get weary of the battle.
The potential in this place appears to be limited
…or nonexistent.
When I feel like this, wouldn’t it be far easier to
cut my losses
pack my bags
and start over somewhere else?
But down deep, I know there’s a huge difference between making a wise move
and running away.
As much as I may long for a change of scenery, I don’t want to become a runaway…go AWOL…be a deserter.
Especially when –
though it’s hard to admit –
most of the things I don’t like are nobody’s fault but mine.
Please give me the wisdom – and courage –
to know when to stay put
and get to work on changing
myself.

Ooh, this one hurt to read. But, MAN, was it what I needed to hear!! Further proof that I need to just trust God instead of trying to run the show on my own. Why is that always such a hard lesson to learn?
