Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with heartfelt trust:
“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth.”
(Joshua 1:8)
I have to take these words seriously, Jesus.
I have to believe there is something life-changing about speaking Your Word aloud.
That must be the case! – after all, You tell me not to let these Scriptures depart from my mouth.
Wow.
Saying Your Word out loud “sounds” like something You really want me to do.
Often.
This is a big deal to You, isn’t it?
And maybe it’s also a big deal…to me.
What is it, LORD – that You want me to hear Your Word…with my own ears?
Does that help these truths sink more deeply into my heart, mind, soul and will?
That’s exactly what the Scripture says, isn’t it? – that faith comes from hearing Your Word.
Okay.
If that’s the case
that’s all I need to know.

The spoken word is power. It is a weapon that can’t be removed or a tool that cannot be silenced. He spoke us into existance. We made in His image. We inherited His power in the words we speak. It is a big responsibility, indeed.
