Lazaroo – Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in holy fear:
“Now this is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Give careful thought to your ways.’”
(Haggai 1:5)
That’s hard to do, Jesus.
I know I should put the hectic pace of my life on pause
step back
take stock of where I’ve been
evaluate what I’m doing
and determine where I will end up –
if the steps I’m taking remain unchanged.
But it’s hard to hop off this merry-go-round long enough to complete that exercise.
I’m afraid I’ll miss out on something.
And…
I’m not sure I’ll like what I discover.
Actually, it’s a little scarier than that.
I’m afraid YOU won’t like what I discover.
But of course, if that’s the case
You already know.
Which means I’m the only one in the dark.
Which means…
It’s time for me to schedule an appointment with You
To give careful thought to my ways.

Mary Ann Ball Says:
“Giving careful thought to my ways” is so where I am “at” today. But why does it have to be so painful. I guess we wouldn’t change if there wasn’t some pain associated with it.
Thanks for such a timely message, Steve.
