Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in baffled, total trust:
“Why do you make me look at injustice?”
(Habakkuk 1:3)
I struggle with this, too, Jesus.
Even as we speak, countless men, women and children are staggering under the crushing burden of unjust treatment.
It tears me up, LORD!
Why do You force me to look at all this injustice – especially when I’m powerless to do anyth-
Oh.
Forgive me.
I know better than that.
I’m never powerless…so long as I can pray.
LORD, please reach down and heal those who are sick.
Comfort those who are neglected.
Feed the hungry.
Deliver those who are being abused by the very people You’ve assigned to protect them.
Rescue the babies whose lives are about to be snatched away from them before they’ve drawn a single breath.
And work through me in whatever way You desire…
…to right these terrible wrongs.
