Lazaroo – Friday, June 12, 2009
2 comments, Jun 12, 2009Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from the depths of your soul:
“[Jesus] provided purification for sins.”
(Hebrews 1:3)
It’s hard for me to get my head around this, Jesus.
I know You died on the cross and paid for my sins.
In full.
It’s beyond amazing to realize I’m totally forgiven.
But it’s almost impossible for me to grasp how complete this miracle really is.
If I’m “purified”
that means I’m clean.
My file is empty.
The backup hard drive has been erased.
My past sins don’t exist!
Still.
Each day I’m in a new sin battle.
Some of them are the same old sins You’ve already had to forgive time and time again.
So please.
Help me believe that when You “provided purification” you didn’t just forgive my past.
Help me comprehend that even now – this very moment as I confess my sins in Godly sorrow –
They’re just…
…gone.
