Lazaroo – Wednesday, June 10, 2009
2 comments, Jun 10, 2009Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:
Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus.”
(Philemon 1:1)
I know Paul spent time behind bars, Jesus.
That was just one of the prices he paid for putting his faith in You.
But something tells me that’s not all he meant when he called himself Your prisoner.
He had so completely given himself to You that his life was no longer his own.
That’s where I long to be.
But I’ve told you that before.
And taken it back.
I realize that makes me unfit.
I should never promise You anything unless I am absolutely certain I will keep my word to you.
But I was.
And I didn’t.
So where does that leave me?
Without credibility. Without a leg to stand on.
So I’ll stand on Your promises, instead.
And dare to whisper these words, with all that I am:
Make me Your prisoner!

Ken Ferry Says:
It seems that I am only consistent when I am consistently unfaithful. There is no comfort to be found in this thought except the constant reminder that my salvation is not performance based, but rather based solely on the grace and mercy of God and my acceptance of His payment in full for my utter failure to live as He designed me to do. I guess this makes me his “prisoner.”
