Lazaroo – Saturday, June 6, 2009
1 comment, Jun 06, 2009Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with laser-focused intensity:
“I thank God, whom I serve…with a clear conscience.”
(2 Timothy 1:3)
I long to serve You that way, Jesus.
What a thrill it would be to bask in Your Presence without the tiniest vestige of guilt!
But it’s so hard to imagine having a clear conscience before You.
You know everything there is to know about me.
You know every sin I’ve ever committed.
Or do You?
You certainly have the ability to keep a record of all my sins.
But that’s not what You choose to do, is it?
You love me with all Your heart.
And love keeps no record of wrongs.
When I confess my sins, You erase them.
You remove them as far as the east is from the west.
You actually refuse to remember them!
So I can serve You freely, joyfully, delightedly…
…with an absolutely clear conscience.

Having a clear conscience towards God is not a gift to God, but God’s gift to us.
