Lazaroo – Monday, May 11, 2009
3 comments, May 11, 2009“That you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.”
(Luke 1:4)
I love this about You, Jesus!
You don’t want me to guess.
You want me to know.
You don’t want me to hope so.
You want me to know so.
All the way back to the beginning, You have wanted us to be certain about every word You speak.
You know why that’s so hard for me.
No one else in my life has ever been that reliable. The nicest, smartest people I know still make so many mistakes.
O God, please help me remember!
You are not them.
It’s not just that You always tell the truth.
You are the Truth.
You don’t just tell me what is going to happen.
It happens…
…because You have the power to make it happen.

Linda Gant Says:
Steve, this truth shot like an arrow through my heart, body and soul today. We are today, once again, in the midst of a tumultuous time concerning our younger son and the law. The only truth we know in all of it is that we CAN stand firm on what God has, does and will say. Truth cannot, unfortunately, be found in our justice system and not always in our loved ones. However, “the One” who created us, our loved ones and, yes, even the justice system is the Truth that will stand forever. I will probably read this Lazaroo several times today. Thank you, Steve.
