Lazaroo – Friday, June 12, 2009

Jun 12, 2009 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from the depths of your soul:

“[Jesus] provided purification for sins.”
(Hebrews 1:3)

It’s hard for me to get my head around this, Jesus.

I know You died on the cross and paid for my sins.

In full.

It’s beyond amazing to realize I’m totally forgiven.

But it’s almost impossible for me to grasp how complete this miracle really is.

If I’m “purified”

that means I’m clean.

My file is empty.

The backup hard drive has been erased.

My past sins don’t exist!

Each day I’m in a new sin battle.

Some of them are the same old sins You’ve already had to forgive time and time again.

So please.

Help me believe that when You “provided purification” you didn’t just forgive my past.

Help me comprehend that even now – this very moment as I confess my sins in Godly sorrow –

They’re just…

Matthew 26:28; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Acts 10:43; Acts 13:38; Acts 26:18; Psalms 103:8-12; Isaiah 43:25; 1 John 1:9; Hebrews 9:14; Hebrews 10:22

What is Lazaroo?

God, knowing the frailties of His creation, also knows the that His grace, mercy, and power must conquer it – a task only He can handle.

At times, this does seem very incomprehensible; and yet, the scripture proves it is true. It is just so extremely opposite of the world we are living in, where people work hard to remember every sin I have committed. It means separating from this world and taking each thought captive that Satan puts in your head to try and bring guilt back to you. The best defense is stay in the Word, stay in the Word, stay in the Word.
